I wish I lived closer to the Kmart I went to this week. I'm sure there are deals to be had there on a regular basis but I wonder if they would ever be as sweet as my Target/Walgreens/CVS deals? I had to run by this week though because they're having their 'Double Coupon' days. You can use 5 coupons a day, up to $0.99 doubled. That was worth it to me.
(5) General Mills Cereals (Orig. $3.99, sale 5/$10)
*Note: Not all GM were on sale, only select ones
used (5) $0.75 coupons (no longer available) that they doubled
(2) Hartz Crunch Clean Cat Treats (Orig. $1.99)
used (2) $1.50/1 coupons (no longer available)
Spent OOP: $3.48
Original Cost of Items: $23.93
Savings: $20.45

Does anyone shop at Kmart regularly with coupons? I'd like to know about your experiences and if the trip is worth it!
So, yesterday was the big day for most Targets across the country. 75% off select toys. Many were already on clearance and were marked down even further! I'm so glad I read deals forum boards sometimes. This was definitely not the sale to miss!
(not pictured: screenprinting kit, 7 SkelAnimals the dd picked out and are sleeping on her bed now)
I have now just about covered 6 children's Christmases, a couple items for a teen, 3 children's birthdays, a couple toys to donate to Toys for Tots (which we usually do anyway) and I stocked away several things I know sell pretty well on Ebay at Christmas time. Do you know how I know? I bought very similar items last year! lol I didn't load up 7 carts like I heard some people did and were clearly only there to gather it all to sell on Ebay. But I did buy several things to sell. I figure, the money made off them will buy the Christmas presents for the rest of my family. Win win situation for me!
None of the 4 Targets I went to had Legos or Star Wars on sale like so many people are saying their stores had. Those are the two main things I was shopping for. I did however score a few Playmobil pieces, so I'm very happy with that.
I bought 55 toys with an average spent of: $3.18 a piece. I call this a fabulous deal!
Spent OOP: $174.75

Stay tuned for tomorrow's Post - Almost free CEREAL & Cat Treats!
I went to Wally World looking for things I couldn't find at Target. Couldn't find them there either but I thought I'd use up some coupons I had in the meantime.
Purina Kitten Chow (Orig. $3.98)
used FREE up to $2.19 or $2.19 off coupon 5/2/10 SS
Organix Shampoo (Orig. $5.94)
* MAKE SURE TO LOOK for 2-for-1 bottles (see pic, bottom shelf where they're almost gone!) Had a free Conditioner attached to it.*
* has a $5 rebate attached to bottle - when you buy 2 Organix and Alice In Wonderland Blu Ray, which I did here*
(6) Natural Instincts Hair Color (Orig. $5.97)
used (3) $5/2 coupons 7/11/10 RP
*WEIRD! - Cashier took $5 of EACH hair color instead*
Copy Paper (Orig. $3.25, sale $2.50) - needed
Spent OOP: $16.05
Original Cost of Items: $54.93 ( Included the price of two Organix)
Savings: $38.88
71% Savings!
Rebate - Will receive a $5 rebate
All in all this was a very good trip. Don't know why the cashier took $5 off each bottle but I'll take it. What is the coupon etiquette on that? Should I have turned around after I discovered the mistake and gone back? Hmmm, will have to think on that moral dilemma.
After coming home from Target 2 days ago, I found several more deals that I could do. So back I went yesterday to save myself some more money. Now the only hard part will be keeping the family from eating all the pretzels in one week!
*NOTE: Please excuse the photos. I put everything up before I realized I had not taken a photo. So here are individual photos taken on the stockpile shelves.*
(4) Tide travel size (Orig. $0.97)
used (4) $1/1 coupon 7/4 P&G

(2) BIC Pen set (Orig. $1.00)
used $1/1 Target coupon here
used $1/1 Target coupon, came in home mailer
(2) Papermate Pen set (Orig. $1.00, sale $0.50)

3 Musketeers (Orig. $0.69) - filler
Lipton Cold Brew (Orig. $2.54) - no sale, just needed
(2) MP Sugar Substitute (Orig. $1.79) - no sale, just needed
used 39 coupons in all, plus my order (with candy bar) was just over $50, so I received a $5 GC to use another time (found the $5/$50 deal in a Target home mailer.)
Spent OOP: $6.79 (The total OOP is a bit off, the cashier did a bit of fiddling with the coupons and for some reason I saved another $4.98, weird but I'll take it!! lol)
Target had the best steals deals this week, I could not pass them up! It was all too perfect really, the exact ingredients to make a child happy on the exact day she is struck down with a cold. What could be better?
(2) Dole Salad Mixes (Orig. $2.39, sale $1.99/0.99)
We also saw that Star Wars/Clone Wars sheets were on sale. They weren't marked 'sale' but the twin sheets were $19.97 and the full sheet set was $7.27. My daughter LOVES Star Wars so this was a deal we couldn't pass up!
Clone Wars Sheet Set (Orig. $29.90, sale $7.27)
Spent OOP: $14.22 (The total OOP is a bit off, the cashier did a bit of fiddling with the free cans price so I probably should have paid $16.88, I don't mind the extra savings! lol)
Original Cost of Items: $107.14
Savings: $92.92
87% Savings!
It's been a stellar week of savings. I think I might just stop here for the week unless something else pops up I can't stand to live without! Walgreen deals didn't look too much fun so I'll hang onto my little RR I have for next week. Ta-ta for now!
* My poor sick babe sleeping peacefully in her new Star Wars sheets (with a cat nearby to take care of her.)
Yesterday was one of the busiest days. Between church, lunch, pet sitting, cleaning, packing DH for a trip, picking up his rental car, packing it, a late dinner and all the other things that go on with a Sunday/weekend day; it was amazing that I was even able to pop into a CVS to get any good deals! And I did it not once, but twice. The first time I was there I was quick because I had a list. But I did see that several things were in the clearance. So the next time I was home, I picked up my coupon box and went back to the store. I got an amazing amount of loot in these visits!

Stay tuned for tomorrow's fantabulous, blow you away Target shopping trip!
Yesterday I dragged the little one and hubby to the local paper recycling bin. It's the third time we've done this in the last month. So I think they're finally getting over the embarrassment of throwing the child in the bin to hand us newspapers and hubby and I standing at the car going through the piles of papers. In deference to them, I do 'try' to hurry along, I know exactly what I'm looking for so that makes it easier.
This time was a huge score. Usually we'll get a pile of coupons to cut and file in my coupon box and maybe 8 different Smart Source/Red Plum inserts.
We came up with tons of coupons I had to cut...
and a whopping 24 inserts of Smart Source/Red Plum/P&G. Major fabulous!
I rewarded both of them for their hard work with coupons we found in the bin for FREE Smoothie or Frappe from McDonalds. I call that a sweet reward! (You can find the coupon stuck inside some of the 7/18/10 Parade mag inserts.) We found so many, we have 2 leftover for another day! Yum yum. The smoothies are okay but the caramel frappe is uber scrumptious!
Sometimes when couponing you're not going to get everything for free. But, as in the case of this week, I had birthday presents to buy. The coupons came in handy and saved me a good deal. I also came upon a full rebate offer, see below. All in all, great Target shopping!
TARGET Visit #1
My bill was much higher than normal this week because I was buying birthday presents of Play-doh. I'm going to have one happy girl on my hands come August 4th.
The teen and I made a second Target visit after I was there the first time and saw that Veet was in the clearance, AND after we learned of the full rebate on the lunch bag. Couldn't pass up those deals!
I am super excited about this rebate opportunity. Imagine, getting things for free, in fact it's a money maker! Watch and see how. Hurry, tomorrow (July 24th) is the last day to purchase your items to be eligible AND to use the $10/$25 coupon.
I'm behind on typing up this week's savings but they were doozys so I don't want to miss writing about them! I love saving money! Stay tuned for tomorrow's Target post and Office Depot Money makers!
CVS VISIT
I started out with $24.98 in ECBs to use on my CVS trips...
I paid more up front with this order but I was buying diapers for my sister in law. It all works out in the end though with the ECBs. Also, for the sake of time, I'm grouping my two transactions together. I did 2 separate on 2 separate cards, to double my savings.
(2) Huggies Diapers (Orig. $11.99, sale $8.99)
used $1.50 coupon 7/11/10 SS
(2) Pantene Pro-V (Orig. 4.99, sale $2/$6.97)
used (2) $2.00 coupons 6/27/10 Parade Mag insert
(4) M&Ms (Orig. $.79, sale B1G1 free)
used B1G1 free coupon 6/27/10 RP
(2) Celsius 4 pks (Orig. $7.99)
used $2/1 coupon from Celsius (now expired)
(2) Nabisco Crackers (Orig. 1.99, sale $0.99)
used $1/2 coupon 5/16/10 SS
(4) Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kits (Orig. $0.99)
I am most definitely a last minute type person. I couldn't resist getting in ONE MORE DEAL or three before the stores closed on Saturday. Also I found an old CVS card and it works so I was able to do some of the deals again. What fun! Here is the damage of those trips...
CVS Stop
I started out with $20 in ECBs to use on my CVS trips...
I did 2 transactions but for the sake of brevity, I'm combining them here.
(4) John Freida Hair Products (Orig. $6.49, sale 2/$10)
Bausch & Lomb Eyecare Solution (Orig. $9.99, sale $7.99)
Biotrue Eyedrops (Orig. $2.99)
CVS Hand Sanitizer (Orig. $1.19, replacement for free sanitizer pen)
Nestle Crunch Bar (Orig. $0.89) - filler
Frances Candy (Orig. $0.33) - filler
used 4 coupons totaling $10 + CVS coupon for free sanitizer pen
Spent OOP: $15.40 (used $6 ECB to pay before this total)
This week wasn't the best in deals (ie: every thing wasn't FREE like I would prefer) but I managed to snag a few more bargains besides the Walgreens deals I posted here.
TARGET VISIT:
The thing I find funny about this visit is the receipt. I'll show you why...
It claims I saved $10. If the original items were only $3.69 a piece and I paid $1.38, how am I saving $10? I think they're just making things up to sound cool...
CVS VISIT:
This week I had nice deals at CVS. I had $10 in ECB monies to use and the opportunity to get many back. I paid a bit more out of pocket but just because the cashier was having trouble with things not ringing up the correct prices so I was reluctant to try to do separate transactions. It would only confuse her. I have lots of ECBs to spend next time though.
Spent: $17.56 (had used $10 ECB before this total)
Original Cost of Items: $57.02
Savings: $39.46
69% of Savings ECB $20 for next time
WALMART VISIT:
I've been wanting to use my Nexcare coupons ever since someone posted somewhere that Target had boxes on sale for $1.24 each. My coupons were for $1 off. But alas, I could not find them for that price or even close, until this week at Walmart. So if anyone decides to get hurt in the next 10 years, I have enough bandaids! lol
P.S. If you're heading to Walmart in the next few days they're having great deals on school supplies already (apparently they don't realize that IT'S SUMMER STILL!!! Urgh!) Great time to stock up.
I've been playing some daily SPIN-TO-WIN type games. I thought I might post them here (mainly so I can find them again! lol) NOTE: On coupons, make sure to use your 'BACK' button and you can print again. Sometimes up to 4 times.
PLAY-DOH (you need codes off your playdough or people give away their numbers all the time. Here are a few of mine: KDN185UV9JN34, K8309D0100940, K9356D3701540) Plus $2 to $5 off playdough toys coupons to print
SOBE (Usually win B1G1 free coupons. They're on sale at CVS this week for $0.77, so pay that for 2 drinks!)
BEST FOODS Plus you can print a $0.75 off coupon for mayo
CARL'S JR/HARDEES ('Like' them on Face book or Twitter to get spins) We've already won 2 paddles/ball set
My teen is a unlucky-charm. I took her out this week with me for dealin' instead of the little one who was at VBS. Every store we went to, I had problems! I told her she wasn't good-luck for me. In the end, it all worked out though.
I am really perturbed by the fact that there are monthly deals at stores like CVS and Walgreens that most of the time don't show up on the shelves so the people look at me like I'm crazy! I wish the store would just publish a list of these deals. What? Are they secret? Don't you want us to purchase your product? We're more apt to do so if we can get it on sale. Just sayin'.
Walgreens Visit
(3) Salonpas Hot Patch ($1.99, sale $0.99)
used this coupon for $1 off (printed 3x), making them free
Every other iMotion kit showed up on sale except this one of course (always my luck.) But I showed her the ad saying all iMotion's 50% off and we double checked my coupon too so it was all correct. Just another thing not labeled in the store.
The Celsius Teas deal that everyone is talking about on their blogs is just not showing up in my store, not even when scanned by the manager. Nor is the Dr. Scholls Gel Insoles deal. I would love it if a store had universal sales across the country, making it easier for us consumers who are eager to buy their products and get good deals.
Yesterday I went to Walgreens. I was determined to get in on the deals early this time instead of waiting until Wednesday like normal and missing out. Figures it was a bad week for getting free money in return. But I still managed to pay almost nothing for the things I did buy. It just means next week I have to pay a bit out of pocket is all. No biggie. I'm learning as I go along still. Tomorrow I will visit CVS and see what damage I can do there. Stay tuned for that...

I struggle to comprehend, if you are a company that actually has a corporate couponing policy, why do not ALL the stores follow it? I think sometimes the policy leaves things up to interpretation by every Tom, Dick and Marty who thinks they know everything. Can you tell I had a irritating Target experience this week?! lol It all went well in the end so I won't complain too much.
I went to one Target to do my 'dealin' as my husband calls it. They didn't have the Olay Body Wash I wanted in stock. So they found out which stores had it and I drove all the way over to another city (about 15 miles) where they awaited me in Customer Service. The flim-flammin' customer service guy would not let me use my buy one Olay get Ivory free coupons and ALSO use my $ off Olay coupons. It should work fine if I have one coupon per item but he was saying that the BIGI counts 2 items as one item. So stupid. Okay, I'm done. Anyway, I went to another Target and they happily did it.

I think I'm done with my dealin' until Sunday when the new coupons and sales come out. Oh wait! That's tomorrow! Yay!
The little one and I went to Walgreens yesterday to check out their deals. I had planned to go earlier in the week and pick up more of the Celsius Tea drinks (so yum) but of course they were all sold out! I came across an unadvertised deal for the shampoos. Pay $3.49, get $3 in Register Rewards back. Exciting right? Since I just said in this post that I was out of shampoo. I plop all my purchases on the counter, all set to do separate alternating purchases so I could get several of these for only $0.49 each. However, the computer wasn't pulling this deal up or shooting out Register Reward monies. The manager was called in and he couldn't fix it. He decided to just charge me the $0.49 each and I didn't have to do separate purchases! You can imagine I grabbed a couple more bottles to buy!

I think I did a bit too much shopping in the last few days as my posts and pictures are starting to pile up! In fact, I took so long to take pics of some of my purchases, they were eaten/drunk/used up! The way people devour snacks and drinks in this house, you would think they were starved half to death!
The little one and I went out on Friday for a 'girls day of couponing'. She loves that she was included in my little adventure. She was very helpful as well.
Yesterday's post showed the visits to Walgreens but we also hit up CVS and Walmart.

This blog is my feeble attempt to figure out how to use the combination of coupons and sales; to take back control of our family's out of control spending habits. I'm on a journey for Coupon Wisdom. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!
