Wednesday, August 11, 2010

So Monday, I dragged the whole family through Target for 1 1/2 hours. DH was not so happy with me but we had picked him up from work and were going out to eat so I wanted to fit it in between. The deals were worth him frowning at me. :)

Christmas TOYS Shopping Extravaganza!!!

Friday, July 30, 2010

So, yesterday was the big day for most Targets across the country. 75% off select toys. Many were already on clearance and were marked down even further! I'm so glad I read deals forum boards sometimes. This was definitely not the sale to miss!

(not pictured: screenprinting kit, 7 SkelAnimals the dd picked out and are sleeping on her bed now)

I have now just about covered 6 children's Christmases, a couple items for a teen, 3 children's birthdays, a couple toys to donate to Toys for Tots (which we usually do anyway) and I stocked away several things I know sell pretty well on Ebay at Christmas time. Do you know how I know? I bought very similar items last year! lol I didn't load up 7 carts like I heard some people did and were clearly only there to gather it all to sell on Ebay. But I did buy several things to sell. I figure, the money made off them will buy the Christmas presents for the rest of my family. Win win situation for me!

None of the 4 Targets I went to had Legos or Star Wars on sale like so many people are saying their stores had. Those are the two main things I was shopping for. I did however score a few Playmobil pieces, so I'm very happy with that.

I bought 55 toys with an average spent of: $3.18 a piece. I call this a fabulous deal!

Spent OOP: $174.75
Original Costs: $699.00
Savings: $524.25
75% Savings!!

Stay tuned for tomorrow's Post - Almost free CEREAL & Cat Treats!

It's been a stellar week of savings. I think I might just stop here for the week unless something else pops up I can't stand to live without! Walgreen deals didn't look too much fun so I'll hang onto my little RR I have for next week. Ta-ta for now!

Target, CVS & Walmart Dealios

Saturday, July 17, 2010

This week wasn't the best in deals (ie: every thing wasn't FREE like I would prefer) but I managed to snag a few more bargains besides the Walgreens deals I posted here.

TARGET VISIT:

The thing I find funny about this visit is the receipt. I'll show you why...

Clean & Clear Cleanser (Orig. 3.69, sale $2.69)
used $2/1 coupon printable here

Spent: $1.38
Original Cost of Items: $7.38
Savings: $6.00
81% of Savings

Here's the receipt.

It claims I saved $10. If the original items were only $3.69 a piece and I paid $1.38, how am I saving $10? I think they're just making things up to sound cool...

CVS VISIT:

This week I had nice deals at CVS. I had $10 in ECB monies to use and the opportunity to get many back. I paid a bit more out of pocket but just because the cashier was having trouble with things not ringing up the correct prices so I was reluctant to try to do separate transactions. It would only confuse her. I have lots of ECBs to spend next time though.

(12) SOBE drinks (Reg. $1.59, sale $0.77)
used B1G1 free coupons I won playing the SOBE game here
(2) Arizona Tea (Reg. $1.50, sale $0.99 & B1G1 free)
(2) Carefree Pantyliners (Orig. $1, sale 2/$1)
Bausch & Lomb Eyecare Solution (Orig. $9.99, sale $7.99)
Biotrue Eyedrops (Orig. $2.99)
(2) Covergirl Lipstick (Orig. $5.99, sale B1G1 free)

Spent: $17.56 (had used $10 ECB before this total)
Original Cost of Items: $57.02
Savings: $39.46
69% of Savings
ECB $20 for next time

WALMART VISIT:

I've been wanting to use my Nexcare coupons ever since someone posted somewhere that Target had boxes on sale for $1.24 each. My coupons were for $1 off. But alas, I could not find them for that price or even close, until this week at Walmart. So if anyone decides to get hurt in the next 10 years, I have enough bandaids! lol

Nexcare bandaids - bought 12 (Orig. $1.85, markdown $1.50)
use $1/1 6/6/10SS
use $0.55/1 5/2/10 SS
print $1/1 coupon here (can print many)

Spent: $6.00
Original Cost of Items: $22.20

73% of Savings

P.S. If you're heading to Walmart in the next few days they're having great deals on school supplies already (apparently they don't realize that IT'S SUMMER STILL!!! Urgh!) Great time to stock up.

    July 7th... More Target Practice

    Saturday, July 10, 2010

I struggle to comprehend, if you are a company that actually has a corporate couponing policy, why do not ALL the stores follow it? I think sometimes the policy leaves things up to interpretation by every Tom, Dick and Marty who thinks they know everything. Can you tell I had a irritating Target experience this week?! lol It all went well in the end so I won't complain too much.

I went to one Target to do my 'dealin' as my husband calls it. They didn't have the Olay Body Wash I wanted in stock. So they found out which stores had it and I drove all the way over to another city (about 15 miles) where they awaited me in Customer Service. The flim-flammin' customer service guy would not let me use my buy one Olay get Ivory free coupons and ALSO use my $ off Olay coupons. It should work fine if I have one coupon per item but he was saying that the BIGI counts 2 items as one item. So stupid. Okay, I'm done. Anyway, I went to another  Target and they happily did it.

    Target Practice!

    Wednesday, June 30, 2010

Well! My first experience with shopping/saving & couponing at Target. I've learned a few things as well. After reading various blogs and posts about Target finds and troubles, I did the following when I went there last night:

    1. I printed our Target's Coupon Policy in case I had to duke it out with a cashier. hehe
    2. When I couldn't find something, I headed to the customer service where they have more doohickeys, scanners and phones to help you find things and will give you a list of other stores that carry that item if they don't have it in stock. They will also call the stores to confirm for you, if you're nice!
    3. When the beeper scanner thingie goes off and the cashier looks confused, just smile. If she tries again and can't get it, kindly suggest maybe typing in the coupon number or maybe a manager could help make it work. Smile some more while the manager scrutenizes the 8 identical coupons you have for free items and skeptically signs off on all of them.
    4. Above all, thank everyone multiple times and BE NICE!

I had the best time Target shopping & saving money! (Apparently my cat loves me saving money too since she couldn't get enough of my purchases...)
